Epic Lemon Cookies of Doom: the Ultimate Glorious Recipe

8 bit Theater

Here at Grab Them And Take Them! we are in a neverending quest for epic deliciousness. Homemade epic deliciousness if possible. And one of the most amazing ways homemade epic deliciousness manifests itself is through cookies. Think about it. Cookies fit in pretty much every scenario. Friends or family gathering? Cookies. Cold winter afternoon? Cookies. A case of a broken heart? Cookies. And of course, End of All Things? Cookies.

There are lots of cookies recipies, some require more work than others. This is a very simple one, you know, to use if the apocalypse starts unexpectedly or if you must have cookies, like, RIGHT NOW.

So here it is. The Epic Lemon Cookies of Doom.

You shall need:

Sugar 100gr (3.5 oz)
1 Egg
A dash of salt
Flour 250gr (7.5 oz)
Butter (not very cold, but not melted either) 65gr (1.95 oz)
Zest of one lemon (for a cookie with more epic lemmonery you can add more)

1 - Mix the sugar with the egg and salt.
2 - Add the flour and mix until you get a mix with a sand-like feel.
3 - Add the butter cut in small pieces and mix until it is incorporated.
4 - Knead the mix on the table until it only crumbles a little bit.
5 - Flatten a bit and sprinkle the lemon zest.
6 - Knead until you come up with a soft dough with the lemon well integrated.
7 - Flatten and cut and lay on an oven plaque. It might not need to be buttered, but depends on the oven and the plaque. I usually butter it.
8 - Cook al around 150 C /300F for 15-20 minutes. Depends on the oven. They have to be clear on the top side and crispy on the bottom. They will be soft when you remove them (be careful not to break them) and get harder as they cool.

Once you have your cookies you can make some frosting and decorate them in your favourite apocalyptic fashion. You can also cut them in imaginative shapes: skulls, zombies, little Cthulhus, Earth hitting comets, aliens... You can find special cookie cutters online, or make them yourself. Your imagination is the limit. That and the time Earth has before the end, that is.
